Price vs. Features Compatibility: Android vs. iOS | InfoZonePK

No doubt that the popularity of mobile apps is soaring ad the demand for them is going to be even higher in the years to come. At the moment, iOS apps and Android apps seems to dominate the apps marketplace. The question is, which is better one is better of the two?

The iOS App Store is home to over 425,000 applications whereas the Android App Market only offers a little over 2000,000. However, as per a couple of websites, the look and feels of iOS applications are better and more appealing as compared to similar applications on Android platform.

Given the variety of apps available, the selection process is relatively similar for both platforms. Though similar apps are widely available for both platforms, there seems to be a lot of iOS overlap in terms of gaming apps. An app that starts out as iOS exclusive will eventually gain popularity and a me-too Android version will be released shortly. Perfect examples of this include Angry Birds and Fruit Ninja.

On the costing front, popular apps on the Android Market are more than 2.5 times expensive on average those of their counterparts on the iOS App Store. Analyst firm Canalys’ App Interrogator study found that the top 100 paid applications on the Android service cost $3.74 on average, compared to an average cost of just $1.47 for the most popular paid iOS apps. The point to note here is the a paid app of Android is not always fully-functional unlike iOS apps. Made to fix example here is an iOS Skype app that enable users to enjoy both video and audio calls while the Android Skype app only allows texting!
