Cellular Operators Seem Happy For Delay of 3G License Auction | InfoZonePK

Cellular Operators seems happy with the indefinite delay of 3G auction, blaming authority for its silent attitude as if they were willing for bringing hi-tech and costly services in the country.

Operators were observed forcibly pushed toward 3G license auction through by telecom authority after inviting new players but in fact they were reluctant to invest huge amount in the infrastructure for at least next few couple of years.

A foreign news wire quoted PTCL and Telenor in its news item, which portrayed that these telecom operators were waiting for 3G license auction but PTA delayed it for indefinite period.

In a statement to Returns, Walid Irshad, CEO of PTCL, “potential bidders were due to submit expressions of the interest from January 21, but they have yet not been invited to do so.”

Mostly operators think that it is good to delay for them and operations of their company with no need of further big investment.
