Punjab Police to Start e-FIR and Cyber Crime Prevention Unit | InfoZonePK

At e-Governance Exhibition held at Arfa Software Technology Park by PITB, a good news to here about Punjab Police to provide it e-services to imporve its performance.

Bilal Javaid from Punjab Police who is currently heading the IT cell of the department. According to him there are following major initiatives that govt has planned to reshaped the police department.

Here below are the facilities that will be provided to Punjab Police department:

100 Model Police  Stations:

PROMISE is the name of this project which is electronically connecting 100 model police station with each other in Punjab. In the first phase, police department is installing CCTV cameras to monitor each and every activity inside a police station from a central monitoring hub.

Soon e-Filing system will be introduced for FIR registration that will be a web based project. This will get rid off old error-prone culture and expedite the process for general public without any hassle.

Cyber Crime and Investigation Unit:

For presentation of electronic crimes, police department will be facilitated with Cyber Crime investigation unit. The unit will track and monitor websites, blogs and other social networks for anti-social and anti-country activities and content.

Radio Frequency Identification Technology:

Through Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) the monitoring will be spread to all the assets of Punjab Police including vehicles, ammunition and other belonging of Punjab so that only authorized personnel could establish the right to use them.

Chips will be installed in the vehicles all across province which will let to monitor at any point of time.

Electronic Attendance:

Similarly the biometric system will be introduced and that will be linked with payroll system that ill eventually eradicate the problem “Ghost Employees’ in the Police Dept.
