Mobilink Announced 10% Growth in Revenues for Q1 2012 | InfoZonePK

Mobilink has posted a 10% YoY increase in revenues for first quarter 2012 with EBITDA up 15 percent in local currency, said the financial statement issued by Mobilink’s holding group Orascom Telecom.

Mobilink’s revenues were negatively impacted by current devaluation, translating into 4% revenue growth in US$ terms compared to 19% growth in local terms.

Mobilink generated PKR 25.9 billion in revenues during first three months of 2012, 10.2 percent up from PKR 23.5 billion during the same period a year ago, mainly due to higher administrative fees and better revenues from VAS and data services.

EBITDA showed an increase of  15% in local currency terms. The increase is a result of improved cost control measures for cost of sales and tariff optimization, the statement said.

Mobilink said that its blended ARPU stood at PKR 239.4 during first quarter, slightly up from PKR 243.9 during the same quarter a year ago, showing 1.9 percent positive growth.

Mobilink was able to decrease its CAPEX by 47% (in US dollars) as a result of a slowdown in capacity roll-out for the network.

Mobilink subscribers were recorded at 35.70 million at the end of first quarter 2012, demoing a growth of 9.4 percent when compared to stats a year ago.
