Sony has announced to release its water proof Android smartphones which will be shipped sometime in 3rd quarter of this year.
Sony announced it on Wednesday to release two smartphones, Xperia Go and Xperia Acro S, both phones will run on dual-core processor. Xperia Go will be shipped with a little older version of Android which is 2.3 (Gingerbread) but Sony has promised to upgrade it to Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) by the time it is shipped globally.
The Xperia Go will target an entry level smartphone market as it is equipped with 3.5 inches touchscreen having 480×320 resolution. It will have 1GHz dual-core rocessor with a 5MP camera.
Whereas, Xperia Arco S is for the higher end smartphone lovers. The phone will have Android 4.9, 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 12MP camera, 4.3 inche display.
The uniqueness that Sony is offering is the waterproof characteristic along with the ability to sense your fingure even if the screen is all wet.
Earlier it was announced from Nokia to release water proof smartphones Pureview and Lumia.
