No doubt that mobiles are getting too common these days. Almost everyone has one like a TV set. But not all of these mobile phones owners to the internet through their devices. However, a recent report from Ericsson says that by 2017, this will change completely and around 85% of the world will then be connecting to the internet through their mobiles and that too in high-speed.

This is really interesting and rather positive news. Because having an internet access any where one wants makes it easier to find out information about anything b logging in or getting online and online news media is also getting strong. Almost anything that once was done only through broadcast television, can now be done through the internet. Even the radio channels have their own online streaming.

The report says that 85% of the world’s population even today can access the internet through mobile, but that is not high-speed 3G. But by 2017, there will be 9 billion subscriptions will be for smartphones. Let us check back on this data five years from now and see how much of this prediction would have come true.

Currently, there are 6.2 billion mobile subscriptions, which is held by 4.2 billion subscribers. Come to think of this, that there are still around 2 billion people without any mobiles. But as of yet, smartphones subscriptions has not even reached 1 billion. It was at 700 million subscriptions at the end of 2011. What all this this mean is actually better connectivity for the world.
