SanDisk introduced its Lightning series of PCI Express Solid State Accelerator cards for enterprise, which can be added to workstations and servers to provide balanced, predictable performance for enterprise applications. The enterprise PCIe SSD cards uses SanDisks enterprise SSD technology and is equipped with an advanced controller using a parallel processing architecture to manage essential data protection and input/output (I/O) functions.
The SanDisk Lightning PCIe SSD uses PCIe 2.0 interface and can be easily installed into any four lane (x4) or greater PCIe slot. Up to five cards may be installed into a single ysem to provide up to 2TB of capacity. It is available in 200GB (LP206M) and 400GB (LP406M) capacities, which are priced at $1,350 and $2,350 respectively.
