NA’s Select Committee Recommends to Close All Prepaid SIMs

National Assembly’s select Committee is in progress to finalize the Electronic Crime bill and has recommended to complete ban on all prepaid SIMs and asked all telecom operators to convert them to postpaid connections.

NA Committee said that its the only way to save our nation by criminals that occur due to misuse of mobile SIMs. These SIMs are being used as weapon and criminals are communicating with innocent citizens through these illegal mobile phone SIMs, give threats and even get ransom.

The Criminals persons get data from illegal sources and get register the SIM on the person of which he even do not know about any SIM and this SIM may use for criminal activities. It is advised to all citizens to check the record against their CNIC and block all those SIMs that are in their name but they are not using it. Further information can be found here.

Before this, end of Mobile Night Packages is also in progress but still there is no update in this regard from PTA or telecom companies.
