Mobile Subscribes Reach 120.5 Million in Pakistan | InfoZonePK

Mobile subscribers in Pakistan are rising and rising due to stiff competition among the telecom companies in the country and tough regulatory measured from the government and telecom watchdog. Overall number of mobile subscribers reach 120.5 million by the end of September.

According to PTA the teledensity of cellular phone companies have reached at 68.3 percent in overall telecom teledensity at 68.3 percent in overall telecom teledensity of 71.8 percent.

The number of subscribers by cellular operator is given below:

Mobilink remained the market leaders with constant growth in their connections in all three brands Indigo, Jazz and Jazba. Its family of total number of customers has extended to 36.07 million. It added 120,554 connections on its network in the first quarter og financial year 2012-13.

Telenor subscribers’ base increased to 30.6 million with addition of 199,221 new subscribers in its family during the period under review.

Ufone subscribers base contracted by 68,252 numbers in Jul-Sep to stand at 23.8 million.

Zong‘s subscribers’ increased to 17.8 million with surge of 964,049 new subscribers on their network in the first quarter of FY13.

Warid subscribers’ base also squeezed to reach at 12.6 million with the outgoing subscribers of 853,377 in July to September.

Overall the cellular industry posted growth of 362,195 numbers in which three operators witnessed growth in connection whereas the rest of two recorded negative growth on their network.
