Lahore High Court (LHC) has terminated Mr. Farooq Awan, the Chairman of Pakistan 
Telecommunication Authority (PTA). LHC gives and order today and said that the appointment of Chairman was illegal and was against the laws.
A petition was filed by Khawaja Saad Saleem of Nayatel and challenged the appointment of Mr. Farooq Awan as Chairman PTA. So today Justice Mansoor Ali Shah of Lahore High Court declared as illegal and cancelled the appointment.
In the petition it was said that the appointment of Mr. Farooq Ahmad Awan as Chairman PTA is on political basis and there is no any merit is considered. The petitioner requested the court the appointment as null and void.
Mr. Farooq Awan was appointed as Chairman PTA in Auguest 2012. He was probably knows all the situation as he was not coming to the office for last four weeks.
Currently it is hard to say due to current political situation of Pakistan that who will be the next Chairman of PTA. However, Mr. Kamran Ali and Mr. Khawar Siddique are the constants candidate for next Chairman PTA.
