Warid launches Phonebook Backup service by with you can save the contacts information (stored in your mobile phone) permanently in an online account & recover them instantaneously in the event of theft or damage & replacement of your mobile phone.
How It Works?
To complement this annual subscription based service‚ we provide you an online account via which you can access‚ view‚ store‚ edit & manage your contacts information. It will also eliminate the hassle of manually transferring them into your new handset.
To top it all‚ there is absolutely no limit to the number of contacts you can store! Now this is what we call convenience!
Service is available for both Zem prepaid & Warid Postpaid subscribers.
You can avail SMS or GPRS version depending on your handset type & compatibility.
The service is based on an monthly subscription.

GPRS Version:
This option allows you to synchronize the contacts information in your mobile phone with your online account in the blink of an eye.
You can upload & store multiple contacts with the GPRS version. Every time you make a change in your phonebook or online account‚ all you need to do is ‘synchronize’ your mobile phone with your online account & let Warid Phonebook Backup take over! Life couldn’t get any easier*
*Note: subscribers who are using GPRS version can also use the SMS version.
How to Register?
- Send ‘REG’ to 400 (Rs. 10+tax will be deducted from your account as monthly subscription charges)
- You will receive a confirmation message asking you to select SMS or GPRS option. Reply with 1 to select GPRS option. (Rs.0.5+tax)
- You will receive SYNCML Settings. Save the settings in your handset.
Enter 1234 as the PIN if prompted - After saving the settings‚ go to your handset menu & click on the ‘SYNCHRONIZE’ option in your handset menu
- Synchronize your contacts & upon successful synchronization your contacts will be saved in your online account
- You will also receive a help menu‚ login & password for your online account. You may use this to add‚ delete‚ manage contacts online & synchronize as & when required
Must Have:
- GPRS compatible handset
- GPRS configured & activated on your handset
- SyncML compatible handset
- Access point in handset set as ‘Warid’ or ‘Warid WAP’*

This option allows you to back up each contact by sending contacts information via Business card or SMS following a particular method.*
*Note: subscribers who are using SMS version can upgrade to GPRS version in the event of up gradation of mobile phone or activation of GPRS.
