Mobilink Foundation in collaboration with Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) organized the ‘Mobilink Road Safety Painting Competition’ at the Open Air Theater Shakarparian, Islamabad. The painting competition aims increase awareness about road safety and promote encourage a traffic rules savvy generation.  Hundreds of children from Government and private schools of the twin cities took part in the competition.

Omar Manzur, Head of Corporate Communication Mobilink praised the art of the school children and encouraged them to learn about road safety measures. Speaking to the audience he said, “Every year thousands of people are affected by road accidents, and much of this distress can be prevented by exercising a little care and vigilance. With this initiative, these young children have helped Mobilink Foundation and ITP share a public service message to educate our citizens towards preventing loss of life and increasing awareness in the public.”

ITP Statement:

The painting competition was organized by Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) as part of their celebrations for the ITP’s Eight (8) year anniversary. Participating students were asked to use their imagination to visually depict simple yet critical topics related to road safety and associated hazards using the medium of art. The event attracted over twelve hundred students from across various schools/colleges of Islamabad and Rawalpindi. A unique feature of the event was the involvement of special children who shared their perspectives on the need for safety measures specifically designed for those with special needs.
