Zameen.com, Pakistan’s largest real estate portal has rolled out a new Maps section. The incorporation of this section is in compliance with the demands of Zameen’s widespread clientele.
Now although the portal has revved up its service with the launch of this new section, it is interesting to note that the site rolled out society maps despite the fact that it was already using Google Maps.
Commenting on this, Zeeshan Ali Khan, Co-Founder Zameen.com, said, “To enhance user experience, we opted for the perfect combo and decided to use both because there is really no alternative to Google Maps when it comes to pinpointing property locations. Our society maps on the other hand give users a clear picture of plot numbers on the map.”
While these maps maybe a bonus feature for the local investors in Pakistan, for overseas Pakistanis however, they were an absolute necessity. “Pakistan has a large Diaspora in other countries and about 40% of Zameen.com’s traffic comes from outside of Pakistan,” added Khan, “and unlike the local investor, overseas Pakistanis cannot physically pay a visit to a society to see things for themselves.” According to Khan, with these maps, the portal has tried to give its overseas users a rudimentary ‘virtual tour’ of the societies and make sure that they have all possible pieces of information they need for making better, more educated buying decisions.
Currently the section holds over 75 society maps of different communities in three of Pakistan’s most popular cities i.e. Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad. We should expect the section to grow further during the coming few months since Khan intends to make it the largest online map resource in Pakistan. These high resolution, detailed society maps can also be viewed on related category and property listing pages.
By rolling out this maps section, Zameen.com has taken another huge step towards offering accurate, authentic and reliable information to its widespread clientele. The portal already holds the honour of revolutionizing & digitalizing the property sector in Pakistan and over the course of time, it has consistently worked on making improvements to its interface while simultaneously launching new products and feature to best cater to the needs of its growing member base.
