Zong, a China mobile company and Pakistan’s fastest growing telecom network announced the official start of its exciting ‘Super 3G’ service for consumers in major cities of Pakistan at a press conference held in Islamabad. ‘Super 3G’ will help consumers experience lightening fast internet, through which they will be able to stream songs and videos within seconds. Zong ‘Super 3G’ will offer best in class technology HSPA+ (High Speed Packet Access) which will offer maximum speeds of up to 42 Mbps (twice as fast as normal 3G available in Pakistan).
Speaking about the launch of the ‘Super 3G’ service, Dr. Fan Yunjun, chairman and chief executive, Zong said, “Superior customer service is an integral part of our business and cannot be ignored. Through our infrastructure – our people and processes are aligned to provide a differentiated customer experience as we keep the customer first in all that we do. Our ‘Super 3G’ service is just another example of our commitment towards providing the best data solutions to our tech-savvy customers. Our service shall offer speeds of up to 42 Mbps while normal 3G offers speeds of up to 21 Mbps. So Zong ‘Super 3G’ is twice as fast as normal 3G available in Pakistan today. The initial launch targets the two major cities of Pakistan i.e. Karachi and Lahore where we have the vastest coverage and will ensure the fastest data speed available. The second stage shall see us expand our services to other major cities”. He added “Customers should look forward to superior 4G services in the months to come.”
All existing Zong SIMs are ‘Super 3G’ enabled so customers will not have to go through any inconvenience to get a new SIM, the tariff for 2G & 3G customers are essentially the same so customers can start using Super 3G and enjoy fast data speeds at the same exciting rates as before. FAQs:
Add Ons are pushed once a user reaches the volume cap of his data bundle. These are small volume increments that can be purchased to enjoy seamless 3G experience. Customers would be recommended to buy Add Ons when they reach 80% and 100% of their bundle utilization. The validity of Add Ons will be the same as validity of base package.
If a user does not purchase an Add On after reaching volume cap of his data bundle, he/she will be charged an out-of-bundle rate ofRs.1/MB instead of Default rate of Rs.10/MB for customer delight. The validity of this OOB rate will be the same as validity of base package.
After reaching volume cap of a bundle, the user’s mobile internet speed will be decreased to 2G speeds (256 kbps) to protect him/her from consuming too much data at 3G speeds and receiving a bill shock. The normal 3G speeds will be resumed once the user buys an Add On or upgrades to a higher bundle.
For Daily & Hourly bundles, usage notification messages would be sent at: 80% utilization only. For Weekly & Monthly bundles Add Ons will be recommended at 80% & 100% utilization. usage notification messages would be sent at: 20%, 50%, 80% & 100% utilization.
All packages can be re-subscribed as many times a customer desires within the validity period, after reaching volume cap EXCEPTDaily Packages.
All packages are on auto-renewal meaning that auto-renewal will keep on happening until the customer does not have sufficient balance for 3 consecutive days. After 4 days of no balance, he will be unsubscribed.
Initially, when a user has not subscribed to any bundle, default rate of Rs.10/MB will be charged. After 1 MB of consumption (for every data session), subscribers would be down-throttled to 256 kbps to protect him/her from consuming too much data at 3G speeds and receiving a bill shock. 3G speeds will be resumed once he/she subscribes to a bundle Default rate will be charged again after the expiry of data bundle, Add On and OOB rate validity.
