Four Startups from LCE make it Top 25 of Pakistan Startup Cup 2015 | InfoZonePK

MARO Tandoors, Fictive Lab, Appify System a.k.a FoodHub and H&O Solution; four teams from the LUMS Center for Entrepreneurship made it to the top 25 of second Pakistan Satrtup Cup, which was recently held at Pearl Continental, Lahore.

The two day event included mentoring sessions, ‘Build a Business’ workshop for entrepreneurs who wanted to develop their ideas into concrete businesses and pitch sessions where startups were asked to pitch their business idea to a panel of judges. The four startups from LUMS Center for Entrepreneurship who pitched included MARO Tandoors, a food based startup which aims to setup a network of ‘Tandoors’ that provide healthy naan, roti and other value added products and an immaculate consumer experience at the same price as traditional ‘Tandoors’. Fictive Lab which developed Interact that brings your home on your fingertips through a single smart app. It enables you to communicate with home appliances and sensors let you monitor, control and automate your home easily and seamlessly to conserve energy, adds safety and security along with the luxury and comfort. H&O Services which is a home services specialist company, that places, manages and verifies blue collar workers for all kinds of repair, maintenance and informal services in small businesses and middle income homes. And lastly, Appify Systems whose product FoodHub provides fastest delivery services at your door step, just 3 simple steps make your life easier and cut out all the hassle that you might face if you opt any other way to get the delivery of your food.

Expressing his delight over being shortlisted, Ali Ahmed, CEO of MARO Tandoors said “It’s a great feeling to be shortlisted among so many talented startups which have presented some brilliant ideas. The top twenty five teams from Lahore, will now be presenting their ideas with other shortlisted teams from Islamabad, Karachi, Quetta and Gilgit Baltistan in the next phase which will be held in Islamabad in the coming month. The winner of Pakistan Startup Cup will be awarded cash prize with guaranteed incubation at LUMS Center for Entrepreneurship among other incentives.

With the participation from over sixty teams from Lahore and as well as others from as far away as Skardu, Pakistan Startup Cup was one of the most awaited event of the year, hosted by TiE Islamabad and TiE Lahore in collaboration with the US Embassy and US Pakistan Women’s Council.
