Indian IT Minister had strictly asked more than 21 internet firms to remove the blasphemous web content from their websites or else they would be banned. These websites included Google, Facebook, Yahoo, Orkut and other famous websites.
The Internet Service Providers are already facing court cases in India and they have been conveyed by the judiciary that if the content is not removed, they would be blocked.
On a summit recently, IT Minister Kapil Sibal said that social media will not be censored. He further said, I want to say once and for all, without any obfuscation no govt in India will ever censor social media.
Facebook and Google has officially confirmed that they have compiled with the court’s directives and remove all the objectionable material from there servers.
