Apple Unveils new iPad | InfoZonePK

Apple today announced its new iPad, which is surprisingly called the iPad; no iPad 3 or iPad HD – like they had speculated.

Here are the major highlights of the new iPad:

Better Retina Display:

New iPad has better display, i.e. 2048 x 1536 pixel resolution display, with 3.1 million mixel pixels total spread across the screen – which qualifies as retina display.

Earlier iPad display was not retina display.

5 Megapixel Camera:

New iPad will feature a 5 Megapixel “iSight” rear camera, which you will be able to shoot up to 1050p video. Up front will be VGA quality, 0.3 megapixel “FaceTime” camera for video chats.

iPad 2 had VGA quality front and rear camera. Though real camera could record 720p videos.

New iPad will support 4G LTE networks, i.e higher data transfer rate compatiable; which by the way means nothing to Pakistani audience.

A5X Processor:

Rumors of a quad core processor proved wrong, instead new iPad features a modefied A5 chip paired with quad-core graphics processor to bettewr handle 1080p videos and display. Apple, s usual, didn’t reveal processor’s clock speed.

No Siri:

But there is voice dictation: Again rumors were laid to rest, no Siri for thr new iPad – instead there is a voice dictation to assist you in number of tasks.

Critiques are calling this nothing revolutionary, except the display and better camera. Those with iPad 2 might be reluctant to upgradw, while those any iPad will have a better chance to buy iPad 2 price.
