A brilliant Pakistani undergraduate computer science student at the Lahore University of Management Science’s (LUMS) School of Science and Engineering, Mr. Abdur Rauf was recently hired by Microsoft Corporation as a Software Development Engineer.
Rauf was admitted to LUMS under the university’s National Outreach Programme (NOP) that provides educational opportunities to talented students, from small cities, villages and inner city areas of large urban centers, who are unable to meet the programme’s regular fee requirement.
According to LUMS Website:
“Rauf was admitted to NOP scholar in the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, however, he later transferred to SSE. Besides excelling at CS courses, he is also working as a Research Associate at the Computer Science Department.”
Abdur Rauf’s job at Microsoft would require him to use his skills testing computer programming and software for bugs.
