StarTech.com launches the UNIDOCK3U, a USB 3.0 SATA/IDE hard drive docking station. The dock has two slots, one for SATA drives and the other for IDE drives, and both slots can handle 2.5-inch and 3.5-inch hard drives. It features a drive ejection mechanism for SATA drives, and has status LED indicator for each drive.
The UNIDOCK3U connects to the computer through a single USB 3.0 connection fir high-speed transfer rate, and is compatiable with plug-and-play and hotswap. The dock supports up to 4TB 3.5-ich drive and 1TB 2.5-inch drive. It uses JMicron JMS551 chipset.
