Facebook announced that it will test a promote button, which will allow managers of pages for small and midsized businesses to promote their content by creating sponsored stories or ads.

A spokesperson from Facebook said, we want to make it as simple as possible for businesses to reach fans and their friends through their page. Right now, this is a very small test, but we will continue to iterate on the feature based on Facebook.
