PTCL is trying to recover pending amount due to Indian company. It is the matter of 33 Million US$ which is unrecoverable from a long time. Actually PTCL handles international calling tariffs and also handling the traffic from India telecommunication companies.

It encompasses Indian big joints and state owned firm BSNL and from long time since 1947 to year 2012, if we calculate the transaction cost between PTCL and BSNL from the time of Indo-Pak partition is 33 Million US$ and still due payment is pending.

Successful dialogue held between officials of two governments and seems all efforts fail to get back this huge amount. Also former federal secretary Mr. Farooq Awan was blamed for delaying the process; actually Indian government already has given the approval of agreed payment to PTCL last year but in the meanwhile Indian High Commission was looking to have more information regarding this matter from the Indian ministry regarding the concerns.

It in in news that Mr. Farooq Awan puzzled the authorities and said that wholly PTCL is not the party for the pending amount and Mr. Farooq Awan is recently appointed as chairman PTA as well.
