Samsung introduces its new SSD 840 and SSD 840 Pro series of solid state drives. The 840 PRO uses SATA III interface and packs MDX controller. It delivers up to 520MB/s read and 450MB/s write speeds and 100,000 IOPS random read and 90,000 IOPS random write performance.
The SSD 840 PRO comes in 64GB, 128GB, 256GB and 512GB models, and the price will start at about $100. Samsung will also release the SSD 840 line, but no details have been mentioned.
