Warid Telecom Buys Back 30 Percent Stacks from Singtel | InfoZonePK

Warid Telecom a cellular company in Pakistan owned by Abu Dhabi Group sold 30 Warid-Singtelpercent of its shares to Singtel a foremost telecom company of Singapore. Now Warid Telecom has acquired back the complete stakes from Singtel and deal in matured in response to pay back US $150 million to Singtel. Further a 7.5% share of proceeds from any future sale or public offering of Warid Telecom.

A statement was issued by the company in which it was said that with 100 ownership in Warid Telecom, this strategic decision will allow the Group to have a more focused approach as Warid enters its 8th year of operations in Pakistan.

Abu Dhabi Group is a large business conglomerate in the Middle East and one of the largest foreign investors in Pakistan. It as diversified business interests, offering strong financial resources and extensive management expertise that result in commercial success for several institutions.
