Rao Hassan of Rawalpindi Golf Club lifted the Chief of the Naval Staff Amateur Golf Cup 2013 net category title with his total score of 208 on the final day of the event which concluded here at Margalla Greens Golf Club. Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral M Asif Sandila graced the occasion as chief guest.
Ghazanfar Mahmood of Rawalpindi Golf Club won the gross category with total gross score of 218. Mubariz Ahmed remained runners-up with 217 and Tariq Mehmood finished third after carding 217. Rao Hassan of Rawalpindi Golf Club carded 208 to top the net category and was followed by Nosher Khan with 213 while Minhaj Maqsood Warraich finished on third spot. with 214. Col Sajid Nawaz won the senior’s gross title with 143 score followed by Lt Col M Shafi (155). Brig (R) Tanveer Rafi won the seniors net category with 142 and Rear Admiral Saleem Akhtar with 145 remained runners up.
In ladies events, Ami Quin with net 74 won the title followed by Saima Ijaz with 66 in the second spot while in the net category, the winner was Navaal Irfan with a score of 63 followed by Ramisha Ijaz (68). Master Asad Atiq won the juniors gross title with total score of 73. Master Rao M Haris grabbed runners up position with 82. Hazaifa Aslam won the juniors net category with 73 and Saad Aslam remained runners up with 74.
While addressing the on the occasion Chief of the Naval Staff said that Pakistan Navy has made a significant contribution to promote golf by regularly organizing national level tournaments. He added that this championship was a memorable event, which would leave a lasting impact on the minds and hearts of golf lovers throughout the country and the ambience of this beautiful course will be cherished for long.
Mr. Feng Tuixian, CFO of Zong said “I would like to thank all the participators who participated in this championship for their enthusiasm and competitive spirit. While all championships must eventually end with one winner getting the trophy, in actuality everyone who participated in this championship is a winner.”
Chief of the Naval Staff congratulated winners and all participants for performing well during the championship. The Admiral also thanked the sponsors, especially Chinese Embassy and Zong Pakistan for extending their support to the game.
