Acer has announced the Iconia W3 at at the Computex 2013. It is the first 8-inch Windows 8 tablet. With a slim and sleek design, the device is just 0.45-inch thin and weighs only 1.1 pounds. Running Windows 8 instead of Windows RT, the 8-incher is compatible with x86 Windows software and programs, meaning you can use software and applications you are currently using. It comes pre-loaded Microsoft Office Home and Student 2013.
The Windows 8 Iconia tablet is powered by Intel’s Atom Z2760 processor, integrated graphics and 2GB of RAM. Its 8.1-inch display features 1280×800 HD touchscreen with 5-point multitouch and there are front and rear-facing 2 Megapixel cameras. You can expect Bluetooth 4.0 and WiFi 802.11n connectivity and a micro HDMI output port. The W3 comes in 32GB and 64GB capacities, with both models support up to 32GB of microSD memory card.
The Iconia W3 is available now for pre-order for $379.99 for 32GB and $429.99 for 64GB. The optional full-size Bluetooth keyboard is priced at $79.99.
