Wateen Telecom to Install Automated PCO Booths at Prisons Jails across Punjab | InfoZonePK

Wateen Telecom has announced that Punjab Prisons Department (PPD) has selected Wateenthe company to install PCO booths on turnkey basis across jails in Punjab.

Wateen Telecom was found to be best suited to provide state-of-the-art PCO booths along with support service. In an attempt to stop illegal use of cell phones, check corruption among jail warders and further facilitate prisoners, Wateen Telecom have set up first-ever computerised Public Call Office worth Rs2 million in the Lahore Camp Jail.

Wateen Telecom will manage and operate these booths across all the major jails in Punjab; this service will help PPD to stop illegal use of cell phones, check corruption among jail warders and further these calls will be recorded and monitored to minimize the security threats and provide enormous safety and security.

Wateen Telecom proposed the idea of “Complete telephony and billing system” to Punjab prisons. It will procure, install, configure and managed the complete core IP Telephony system along with Billing System under SLA.  In the initial phase this system has been installed in 10 jails for 27,200 users and will go up to 32 jails. Under the contract, Wateen Telecom will provide Support Services under Service Level Agreement ensuring high service quality which are now a hallmark of Wateen.
