Today people everywhere will be celebrating their differences as part of the UN’s World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development.

In today’s global marketplace, diversity is crucial as businesses aim to reach out to a wider audience worldwide. Lamudi serves as a platform for emerging real estate markets across the globe. The company, which operates in 28 countries, is a melting pot of cultural diversity, embracing racial, cultural and gender diversity and bringing together people of all ages from different backgrounds.

“Cultural diversity is one of Lamudi’s success factors. Lamudi is a melting pot of great ideas from employees all around the world. Listening to different perspectives, challenging stereotypes, and trying new approaches makes it possible for us to grow and adapt quickly,” commented Saad Arshed, Country Director at Lamudi.pk.

The Berlin start-up scene sees people from different cultures coming together in diverse communities to work towards a common goal – creating a successful business. In Lamudi’s Berlin HQ alone, the 33-person strong workforce originates from 18 different countries across six continents, including Brazil, Lithuania, Australia, Indonesia, Bangladesh and Egypt.

The company’s diverse HQ also boasts three female Directors and a 54% female workforce, as well as three female Managing Directors worldwide.

The global real estate player’s recent expansion in Asia, the Middle East and Africa continues Lamudi’s aim of bringing together different countries, and cultures, all working together to make the company stronger.

David Zwagemaker, Managing Director of Lamudi Bangladesh commented, “Working at Lamudi in Bangladesh is a hugely diverse experience. We have a team of 20 people from different backgrounds, age, and experience. Working with such a team makes every day interesting, especially working here as an expat from an entirely different culture.”

While these differences have caused conflict all over the world, cultural diversity is also bringing people together. A day to celebrate diversity raises awareness worldwide on the importance of intercultural inclusion.
