PTA in its ongoing efforts to control grey trafficking unearthed two more illegal gateway exchanges in Gujrat and Karachi.
According to details, a successful operation against the grey operator was carried out along with FIA team in Gujrat. During the raid, illegal exchange comprising of 3 gateways, DSL routers, hundreds of SIMs, desktop PC and a Laptop were confiscated. No arrest could be made, however FIA is trying to reach culprits.
In Karachi, a successful operation against the grey operators was also carried out along with FIA team in Gulistan-e-Jauhar Karachi. During the raid, an illegal exchange comprising of 9 gateways was confiscated. One person was arrested and investigations are underway by FIA.
During the raid in Harappa and Chicha Watni, 12 operational illegal VoIP exchange comprising DSL and EVO connections, laptops and hundreds of SIMs were confiscated. Three accused have been arrested and are in FIA custody for further investigation.
Moreover, Five operational illegal VoIP were confiscated in Kasur.
The successful raids against the grey operators were made possible because of continuous monitoring, commitment and persistent efforts by PTA in curbing the menace of grey traffic thus curtailing the loss to the national exchequer because of grey traffickers in the country.
