PTARaids

Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) and Frequency Allocation Board (FAB) have been monitoring frequency spectrum and taking enforcement action against illegal/unauthorized user of frequency spectrum on regular basis. Recently, PTA along with Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) carried out a raid at Master Communication, Office No. 9, 5th floor, Gohar Center, Wahdat Road, Lahore, to stop illegal use of frequency spectrum by the company. During the raid, apparatus used for establishment of illegal links was confiscated and operation of eleven (11) illegal links was seized.

Use of frequency spectrum without obtaining license from PTA is an offense under Section 31 of Pakistan Telecommunication (Re-Organization) Act 1996. Illegal use of frequency spectrum may lead to imprisonment up to three (3) years or fine up to ten (10) million Rupees or both.
