Due to heavy rains and bad weather conditions in Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJ&K) and Gilgit Baltistan, Special Communications Organization (SCO) has decided to extend the submission deadline for entries to its Photography competition to 12 October 2020. The decision has been made due to the amount of requests and the fabulous sunshine that has been forecasted for the coming days.

The photography competition is an integral part of SCO’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities. In 2019, SCO conducted the first-ever exhibition under the theme ‘My Land, My People’ at Pakistan National Council of Arts (PNCA).

Our aim is to recognize and bring exposure to the unique and talented photographers. Whether an amateur or a professional, or just a novice smartphone photographer with a creative eye, we at SCO want to discover the most amazing photographers and share their best work to the national level.

Remember to Capture:

‘Flora and Fauna’ of Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJ&K) and Gilgit Baltistan (GB), is the theme of 2020 photography competition, and SCO will entertain Photographs depicting the mesmerizing wildflowers, plants, trees, insects, mammals, wildlife only.

How to Capture:

Photos of Hi-Resolution, min 20 Mega Pixel and above taken through DSLR Cam/Mobile.

How Can You Participate:

The competition is open for all and will be split into four groups. In Group A, University students of AJK & GB. The Groups B and C will entertain entries from college and school students of the region respectively. While in Group D, which is not age-bound, photographs submissions from the general public will be received.

How to Submit Entries:

All participants should submit Photograph(s) with all required information – i.e. full name, CNIC number, mobile number, email address, name of institution, and group name – at photography2020@sco.gov.pk. Each participant can submit more than one photographs to a maximum of three.

Only short listed participants will be instructed to submit the original version of photographs. The last date for submission is now October 12, 2020. The winners of the competition will be recognized in all SCO publications and also will be awarded cash prizes.
