NAB Serious to Recover 47 Billion from Cellular Operators | InfoZonePK

NAB is looking very serious to save tax evasion of 47 billion for national exchequer. Suo Moto decision has been taken by chairman of NAB and asked chairman of FBI to present all details regarding this matter and take quick actions.

47 billion is still un-recovered and loss has been caused to national exchequer through tax evasion by not paying the tax payable amount by five cellular companies in Pakistan are National Telecommunication Corporation (NTC), Pakistan Telecom Mobile Company Ltd. (PTML), Telenor, Pakistan Mobile Communication Ltd. (PMCL) and Warid.

Further direction has been given to chairman FBI to not give any relaxation for any of mobile company in this regard. Chairman NAB also appointed the committee including DG Operations, Director Special Operations and senior banking officers who will investigate and collect all fact findings and present the report to chairman NAB.

Also high level of FBI comprising Member Inland Revenue, Member Admin and Chief Sales Tax appears in front if inquiry committee of NAB and gave notice to cellular companies regarding the issue of giving waiver.

All the explanations found unsatisfied and restrained to give waivers notification. FBI was trying to issue subject waiver in-spite of preventive instructions of NAB.

Further chairman FBR tried to convince the inquiry committee that waiver is in line with the law but when  confronted with evidence and supporting documents, he thanked NAB for timely intervention and guidance in safeguarding the interest of national exchequer.
