PTA to Conduct IPv6 and Routing Workshops at Lahore and Karachi | InfoZonePK

PTA has taken several steps toward awareness of modern technologies and capacity building of IT and Telecom sector of Pakistan, PTA has arranged several training programs on IXP operations, Big Data, IPv6, DNSSEC and Internet Resource Management (IRM), through international organizations like ICANN, APNIC, ISOC and NSRC, at Islamabad. However, there is huge demand from the network community to arrange similar type of training programs at Lahore and Karachi.

PTA has also joined hands with different organizations like Pakistan Network Operators Group (PKNOG) which has been developed by group of volunteers from different organizations and academia, to enhance awareness of modern Internet technologies, capacity building and to provide platform for technical discussion and support within the Pakistani networkers community.

PTA and PKNOG have coordinated with different international organizations to conduct training programs at different cities of Pakistan like Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad. In response to PTA and PKNOG’s continuous efforts, APNIC (Asia Pacific Network Information Centre, responsible for allocation of IP addresses (IPv4 & IPv6) in Asia Pacific region) has agreed to conduct two training programs at Lahore and Karachi. First training program shall be three days IPv6 workshop at LUMS,  Lahore on 10-12 August 2016, in coordination with PTA, PKNOG and LUMS, as per detail at APNIC website link https://training.apnic.net/events/2016/august/WIP601-10Aug2016, whereas second training program on Routing including IPv6 shall be conducted at Habib University, Karachi whereas PTA & PKNOG will be partnering the training, as per detail at APNIC website link https://training.apnic.net/events/2016/august/TIRM03-16Aug2016

Networking professionals from IT & Telecom sector, academia and students with relevant background can register directly at APNIC website. APNIC has also offered early bird discounted fee upto 21-07-2016 and 26-07-2016 for Lahore and Karachi trainings, respectively. Payment can be made at APNIC website through credit card and at the training venue through cash, before the training.

In addition to above APNIC has also offered 10% discounts for a nomination of group of 5 or more persons, with the below mentioned conditions: 

i. Fees to be received by APNIC or the local host (LUMS or Habib University) prior to the workshop
ii. All attendees to be registered in one booking
