PTA Raids Illegal Gateway Exchanges at Lahore, Sialkot and Gujranwala | InfoZonePK

Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) along with Federal Investigation agency (FIA) has conducted a successful raid in Lahore, Sialkot and Gujranwala and seized  functional illegal gateway exchanges.

According to details PTA and FIA teams through combined efforts carried out raid at House No 1 86/2k Street No 80 Amer Sidhu Lahore. During the raid an operational illegal gateway exchange comprising of eight (08) illegal gateways along with number of SIMs have been confiscated.

PTA and FIA has carried out it second successful raids at Mohallah Toheedabad Town, Defence Road, Sialkot and third in Gujranwala. During the raids two operational illegal gateway exchanges along with supporting equipments and hundreds of SIMs were confiscated. A culprit running the illegal setup has been arrested from Sialkot by FIA.

It may be added that PTA is observing the international traffic coming in to the country, round the clock. The aim of monitoring is to identify the illegal gateway exchanges and track the elements operating them. Such exchanges bring huge loss to the national exchequer as well as to the telecom sector.
